every time i try it tells me that i cant because xp is a older version, i wanna change it b/c vista has given me nothing but problems. nothing is compatible with it and its starting to drive me crazyAnybody know how i can replace vista with xp?
Your going to have to format your drive first but make sure you download all the drivers your computer will need ahead of time for things to work properly. be sure to burn them to cd or put on thumb drive so you'll have them. here is some sites to help you.

Have you tried reformatting your hard drive and then installing XP? That might be the only way.
You will have to get the PC to '; boot from your XP disc '; change to boot order to boot from your CD drive
What you need to do is boot from your XP disc, reformat and carry out a fresh installation.
Be sure to backup your personal files and folders first, as formatting will wipe your drive.
If you do not need to protect the data on your hard drive you can download GParted ( http://gparted.sourceforge.net/livecd.ph ), burn it to a CD and boot from it.
Once you've booted from it you'll be able to format your hard drive.
Once your hard drive has been blown away (there will not be anything usable to you, all your data will be gone, if you had family photos/tax returns they will be missing) boot from your XP CD and install away.
