Can I ';downgrade'; From Windows Vista to Windows XP?

I have Windows Vista Home Edition pre installed on my computer (ESystem). But it is the most costly piece of garbage I have ever bought. I麓m sure there are many people who know what I mean. If I obtain a Windows XP full Edition Installation disc, can I delete Vista and replace it with XP? How would I do it?Can I ';downgrade'; From Windows Vista to Windows XP?
When you boot your computer from the XP CD, you will see a list of partitions. Highlight the Vista partition, press ';D';, and then ';L.'; Now format the hard drive (quick format is obviously the fastest.) Setup will continue as normal.

You will probably need to find new drivers for your hardware. Look up the specs for your computer, and search for drivers for them either through Google or on the OEMs website (Intel, Realtek, etc...) I can help you find the drivers if you need assistance. Can I ';downgrade'; From Windows Vista to Windows XP?
you would have to have the xp setup discs. i wouldnt exactly call it downgrading. i have vista and i HATE it. i think all you have to do is get the xp discs and go from there. maybe have to format the computer.
You could do a clean install of Windows XP from the Windows XP disc (which is bootable). You will want to perform a search on Google for performing a clean install of Windows XP.
Yes. Restore teh computer (Make sure you back up all your files first!) and then upload the Wiondows XP!

Simple as that. :)
Microsoft does not support 'downgrading' an operating system, so you will have to erase your hard drive, or at least that partition, before you can install Windows XP on it. First, backup all files, favorites, etc. that you want to keep. Second, use DBAN to wipe your hard drive clean. (This will permenantly delete all files on the hard drive, so verify your backups before proceeding.) Once the drive has been erased then try installing Windows XP again from scratch.
Yes, this would be possible, however to do it, you would have to reformat your harddrive in the process. Meaning, that you would loose everything you currently have on your computer. So any programs you would want to use in XP you would need to reinstall.
You could get the hard drive wiped professionally and then reinstall XP.

I agree Vista at present is rubbish.AND expensive.
YUP! Just reformat your HD and install XP
It's possible to have two different operating systems on your computer. All you have to do is partition your Hard Drive and install Windows XP in your unused partition.

If you don't want to have two operating systems. Then you can use the Windows XP installation disk to re-format your Hard Drive and erase all the information on it including Windows Vista, before installing Windows XP.

But the thing is, Microstoft won't give you Windows XP for free or even at a reduced price. You'll have to pay the full price for Windows XP, if you want to get rid of your Windows Vista.
Hang in their pal. Putting XP on means finding a original XP cd - then booting it and wiping the whole drive- yes- everything. Take a look at a site to see how you can better use Vista. Sorry- was not that impressed with XP security wise- my XP machine is just getting slower and slower with each update- Wonder who's doing that?
you can wipe out your harddrive and everything on it including windows and then you need the xp instullation disc and use that to equip windows xp
No you can't if it came preinstalled on your system...

Microsoft thought of this and if you do then the drivers for your internal hardware are not compatable with Windows XP and you will end up needing to reinstall Vista on your system to get anything to work.

I tried doing this to my Aunt's computer and it ended up costing me a TON to get Vista put back on... They didn't include a back up disk with the computer.

It is a scam...

It is BULL$#!t...

Microsoft should be ashamed of themselves and we should all be writing, emailing, and calling Microsoft to inform them of how they have knowingly F*^%ed us and we will not take it anymore!!

Being forced to use their crap is out right unethical!!!
You must reformat(clean up your hard drive bring to a repair shop so they can help u) your computer. Then install windows xp.I guess windows vista stinks tats why u want to degrade.=@(
Why would u want to do that??
I don't think you are able to do that, because Windows XP is no longer supported by Windows. Which means that unless you wanted illegal software, you would have to have a computer that has Windows XP pre installed onto it.
