If you can't figure out this extremely simple process, you will have absolutely no luck in getting XP working on your computer properly.

The reason it does not work is that XP is an outdated piece of crap that was created before SATA drives were. The SATA controller has to be set to ';legacy'; (which means ';old';) mode to emulate an IDE drive. Afterward, XP will be able to see the drive. You can't set it back to normal SATA until you manage to find the chipset drivers for your computer (along with the wireless, graphic, modem, etc...).How do i get vsta off my laptop so i can install xp?
Because you cannot install XP over Vista. It's a bit more tricky with more steps.

First of which you need to go to the Acer web site and make sure your computer model will support XP drivers, as not all Vista comptuers can support it.

Once you do that and if it can have XP. You will have to format the hard drive of the computer in order to remove Vista, after that you can install XP.

But bewarned if you install XP, you may lose the warranity on your computer.
its cus xp doesnt have sata drivers u need to slipstream the cd with nlite then add sata drivers to it go here http://www.driverpacks.net/DriverPacks/ and download drivers then use nlite to do rest here is a complete on how to do it http://www.maximumpc.com/article/How-To- dude i have a dell with xp installed and i just dont tell them i have xp cant void my warranty unless they know it, so dont tell, i still get support from dell
Why do you want a craptop for? Installing XP will turn your new laptop into a craptop.
