How do I put Vista on a CD or DVD to save for about a Year.?

We have a newer PC that has Vista on it, which we hate. We would like to remove Vista and replace with XP but don't know how to do it. Need step by step instructions. How do I put Vista on a CD or DVD to save for about a Year.?
u are not going to be able to burn it to a disk. if it came with vista already installed and u did not have to use the disk and product key then it should still be good for one install whenever u choose. as for getting rid of the existing install of vista, i would with the xp install disk choose partition when installing rhis will give you a dual booting system. meaning when you start your pc u can choose which os you want to run.then you always have the option of xp or vista. How do I put Vista on a CD or DVD to save for about a Year.?
You can reinstall XP, but you have to format your hard drive. Based upon the lack of computer knowledge displayed by your question, I would advise you to just pay someone to do this for you, because you run the risk of rendering your computer unusable. Also keep in mind that the only way to do this is to format the hard drive, which means you will lose all data and programs on the computer. You probably won't be able to reinstall any software that came with the computer either. However, if you insist on doing it yourself, here's what you need to do:

Make sure you have a full copy of XP.

Make sure you have XP drivers for every piece of hardware on your system. Download them and burn to disc. This is critical - I was unable to install XP on my newish computer because it insisted I didn't have a hard drive - my drive controllers were new enough that XP didn't recognize them.

Once you have everything, boot off your XP CD. Go into the repair console and format the drive and fdisk the mbr. Reboot off CD, follow instructions and install XP and hope for the best.
