How do you rip vista???? To replace with XP???

Could someone please tell me exactly what to do to rip vista off my acer 4602z, and install XP pro in it's place.

What drivers should I collect?

Once I get the drivers do I put them onto a cd r or dvd r?

How do I install the f6fly32 driver via floppy while installling xp?

Could someoneplease describe step by step how to do this? How do you rip vista???? To replace with XP???
There are two things to consider before you think of doing this.

1. If your product is still under warranty then you will almost certainly render it void if you install XP.

2. If you want to go ahead and install XP, make sure you have the corresponding XP drivers for your equipment.

Good luck.

go to there website and download the drivers for xp and you will need a copy of xp pro to put on it to. there text support should be able to talk you through the process of replaceing it. it was possible on my hp pavilion but it took a long time to uninstall and install
You need to have the windows xp installation cd. Alternatively, MS offers the ability to downgrade back to XP through special software. You will have to check with MS on that one. As for drivers, you need to have the original disc that has all the drivers on it, or you can get them off the internet from the manufacturers website.
tear it apart, lolx... seriously speaking your acer must have come with the drivers DVD/CD along with it. So i do not think you would need to collect them.

anyways, just reformat your drive and use the XP dvd/cd (you might need to configure your BIOS to boot from DVD) to boot up and install XP. after OS is installed, use the drivers DVD/CD that came with the computer to install the drivers on it.

Drivers are required to be installed only after the initial OS has been installed. once that is done, try restarting the computer. for the devices for which drivers are not installed, they would raise a flag itself. you can then choose to install the driver from the floppy.
1) Visit the manufacturers website and download every WinXP driver for your machine. Put them in a directory and ogranize how you see fit, it's a good idea to unpack them there if given the chance. It helps cut down on install steps later.

2) Burn those drivers to a cd

3) Back up all the data you need

4) Keep your back up cd(s), the driver cd, and the floppy with the driver for that thing you mentioned.

5) Boot your computer using the WinXP install cd

6) when prompted to load drivers, press the appropriate key to do so.

7) Delete the existing partition using the prompts

8) Create a new partition using the prompts

9) Format that partition with NTFS using the prompts

10) sit back and let the install run and take action when required

11) Update WinXP immediately when able to do so

12) Restore the backed up data

You could do all of that... or just wait another month for Vista SP1 to come out which includes a lot of fixes and under the hood fine tuning. It might resolve some of your issues with Vista.
Wow... First, you should ask yourself if this is really what you want to do... Many of these hardware manufacturers will soon only make Vista drivers. Hopefully you can get the drivers you need. Go to the acer website and download the drivers from their support area. If they list the drivers for XP then download them and save them on a thumbdrive or CDR for after the install.

Your best bet is to format the hard drive and start fresh (You will lose data and customizations)... After format, boot from XP install disk, install XP, default settings should be sufficient. After installing the OS, install your drivers. After installing the drivers, go to driver manager, look for errors in the list. Identify the errors and install the proper drivers for the hardware.

You shouldn't need anything super special for the install... Just find all the drivers from the acer website, or perhaps a forum of acer owners.

Hope this helps.
